ED Treatment in Shimbashi, Tokyo | Same-Day Prescription at Men’s Care Clinic

Is this you?

Men’s Care Clinic treats men only. Our Shimbashi clinic is a one-minute walk from JR Shimbashi Station and prescribes ED medication on the day of your visit. Men come to us with concerns like these.

What treatment at the clinic involves

An ED consultation here is based on questions, not on examination. You will not be asked to undress, and neither palpation nor genital examination is normally carried out. The doctor asks about your symptoms, when they began, your general health and any medication you take, and then decides which medicine and what dose are suitable.

The medication is dispensed inside the clinic once it has been prescribed, so there is no need to go on to a pharmacy. You may buy the quantity you want, and a repeat prescription can be arranged if you intend to continue. From the second visit onwards you can switch to an online consultation and have the medication posted to you instead.

Erection depends on blood flowing into the corpora cavernosa of the penis, and a substance called cGMP has an important part in this. An enzyme called PDE5 breaks cGMP down. Where erectile dysfunction is present, PDE5 can predominate despite sexual stimulation. The medicines used here inhibit PDE5, which makes an erection easier to obtain and to keep.

These medicines assist an erection in response to direct sexual stimulation. They do not arouse desire and they do not work on their own.

Your visit, step by step

Step What happens
Step 1 — Reception Book by LINE or through the website and come to the clinic. You will be asked to fill in a questionnaire.
Step 2 — The doctor’s consultation The doctor asks about your symptoms, your daily habits, any condition you have and any medicine you take, then decides which medicine and what dose can be used. Please ask about anything that is unclear.
Step 3 — Dispensing and payment The medication is handed to you there and then, so there is no need to visit an outside pharmacy. Payment is by cash or card.

Getting to the clinic

The clinic is a one-minute walk from JR Shimbashi Station. From the Ginza exit, cross to the pavement on the side of the Big Echo karaoke building, keep Big Echo on your left and walk straight ahead. Cross at the pedestrian crossing, continue past the udon restaurant, follow the curve in the road, go up the short flight of steps and take the lift to the seventh floor of the Maruchu Building.

From exit 1 of Shimbashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza line, come up to street level and walk straight ahead, crossing at the pedestrian crossing, then follow the same route.

Coming by other lines

Shimbashi Station is served by five lines. The Toei Asakusa line and the Yurikamome both stop at Shimbashi and are within walking distance, so the clinic is straightforward to reach from most parts of Tokyo.

Coming from Shiodome, Ginza or Toranomon

The Shiodome office district is within walking distance. Ginza, Toranomon and Kasumigaseki are one or two stops from Shimbashi. If you are coming from the Karasumori side, head for Shimbashi Station and follow the directions above.

Coming after work

The clinic is open until 21:00 on weekdays. First visits are received until 30 minutes before closing, follow-up visits until 10 minutes before. It is also open from 10:00 to 18:00 at weekends and on public holidays, which helps if weekday appointments are difficult.

If you are hesitating

Will there be an examination of my genitals?

An ED consultation is based on questions. Palpation and genital examination are not normally carried out and you will not be asked to undress.

Will my family or my employer find out?

No insurance card is used, because the treatment is self-pay. As health insurance is not involved, no notice of medical expenses is sent to your home or your workplace. The clinic treats men only.

Will it take a long time?

The questionnaire, the consultation and dispensing are all done in a single visit, in about 15 to 20 minutes.

I do not know which medicine to choose.

You do not have to choose. The doctor asks about the situations that concern you, your daily routine and any medication you take, and then suggests the options.

I am not sure my problem is serious enough.

Occasional difficulty, or losing firmness partway, is included. Attending does not commit you to taking medication; you are welcome to come simply to discuss it.

Questions we are asked

How much does ED medication cost?

Sildenafil 50mg, the generic form of Viagra®, starts at ¥880 per tablet. Tadalafil and vardenafil are also available. The full list is in the price table above.

Is there a consultation fee?

There is no consultation fee where ten or more tablets are prescribed. Where fewer than ten are prescribed, the fee is ¥3,000.

Can I be prescribed just one tablet?

Yes. You may have the quantity you want, though the ¥3,000 consultation fee applies for fewer than ten tablets.

Can I come after work?

Yes. The clinic is open until 21:00 on weekdays. First visits are received until 20:30 and follow-up visits until 20:50. It is one minute from Shimbashi Station.

Do I need an appointment, or can I be seen the same day?

Book by LINE or through the website. Same-day appointments are possible when a slot is free. First visits are received until 30 minutes before closing and follow-up visits until 10 minutes before.

Will I have to undress at the consultation?

No. An ED consultation is based on questions; palpation and genital examination are not normally carried out.

Can ED treatment be covered by insurance?

No. All ED treatment here is self-pay, public health insurance does not apply, and no insurance card is needed.

What is the difference between a generic and the original medicine?

The active ingredient is the same and the price differs. Sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil are all available here. Which preparation is used is decided by the doctor at the consultation.

I have a medical condition and take medication. Can I still be treated?

Possibly not — for example if you take a nitrate. Please tell the doctor about any condition you have and any medicine you take. Whether treatment can be prescribed is the doctor’s decision.

Does the medicine work on its own?

No. It does not arouse desire or increase libido, and sexual imagination or visual stimulation alone may not be enough. It assists an erection in response to direct sexual stimulation.

Does food affect the medicine?

Taking it on an empty stomach is recommended. Taken with a meal, it may take longer to work.

What should I take it with?

Water or tea. Drinks containing fat, such as milk, may hinder absorption. Grapefruit juice should be avoided, as it can increase the effect unpredictably and bring on side effects.

Can I receive the medication without visiting?

Yes, by online consultation. You complete the web questionnaire, the doctor holds the consultation, and once payment is confirmed the medication is posted to you. Delivery held at a post office can also be arranged.

What happens if it does not work for me?

The dose or the preparation may be reviewed. As the effect varies between individuals, please describe what happened at your next consultation.

Could anyone else find out what I have been prescribed?

No. We are bound by a duty of confidentiality and, as a rule, no one other than the patient can see what has been prescribed.

Which exit do I use, and how long does it take?

One minute from the Ginza exit of JR Shimbashi Station, or from exit 1 of Shimbashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza line. The address is Maruchu Building 7F-B, 1-8-4 Shimbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

Until what time can I be seen?

14:00 to 21:00 on weekdays and 10:00 to 18:00 at weekends and on public holidays.

How do I pay?

By cash, or by VISA, JCB, Mastercard, American Express or Diners Club credit card, or by debit card.
