ED TREATMENT
ED Treatment for Men in Tokyo | English Support at Shimbashi
Prescription treatment for erectile dysfunction at a men-only clinic one minute from Shimbashi Station, with online consultation also available. Self-pay, so no insurance card is needed.
Before you read: what people ask us most
Q Do you speak English?
A Consultations are conducted in Japanese, and we use translation tools to support English-speaking patients. If you would feel more comfortable with an interpreter or a Japanese-speaking companion, you are welcome to bring one.
Q Can I use Japanese health insurance?
A No. Every treatment on this page is self-pay (jiyu-shinryo). Japanese National Health Insurance and public subsidy programmes do not apply, so you pay the full amount shown.
Q Do I need to bring my insurance card or residence card?
A An insurance card is not required, precisely because these treatments are self-pay. Please bring photo ID. If you are unsure what to bring for your situation, tell us in the booking form and we will confirm before your visit.
Q Will my employer or family find out?
A Because treatment is self-pay, no insurance claim is filed, so no statement of medical expenses is sent to your home or your employer. This is a men-only clinic.
Q How do I pay?
A We accept VISA, JCB, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club, as well as debit cards and cash.
Is this you?
Many men put off asking about this for years. If any of the following sounds familiar, it is worth a conversation with a physician.
- You have noticed a change in firmness, or erections do not last as long as they used to.
- It works some times and not others, depending on the situation or the partner.
- You are taking medication for blood pressure, diabetes or depression.
- You want to talk to a doctor, but not at a clinic where you might be recognised.
What ED is, briefly
Erectile dysfunction (ED) means that an erection sufficient for satisfactory intercourse cannot be achieved or maintained. It is common, and it is not a matter of willpower.
How an erection works
Sexual stimulation triggers the release of a signalling molecule called cGMP, which relaxes the smooth muscle of the blood vessels in the penis so that blood can flow in. An enzyme called PDE5 breaks cGMP down again. When that balance tips too far towards breakdown, an erection is harder to achieve or to keep. PDE5 inhibitors — the class of medication used to treat ED — slow that breakdown.
Common contributing factors
- Psychogenic — stress, anxiety about performance, fatigue, relationship factors.
- Vascular and metabolic — diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, which affect the blood vessels.
- Lifestyle — smoking, heavy drinking, lack of sleep.
- Medication — some prescriptions, including certain antidepressants and blood pressure medications.
What we offer
Consultation
A physician reviews your medical history, current medication and lifestyle to understand what is contributing in your case.
Oral medication
PDE5 inhibitors — sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil — prescribed after consultation. Generic versions are available.
Lifestyle guidance
Advice on sleep, alcohol, smoking and stress, which often matter as much as the medication itself.
Pricing
Consultation fee: ¥0 when a prescription of 10 or more tablets is issued. If fewer than 10 tablets are prescribed, the consultation fee is ¥3,000.

Risks and side effects
Reported side effects of PDE5 inhibitors include flushing and palpitations. Depending on your health status and medical history, a physician may determine that these medications cannot be prescribed for you — in particular, they must not be combined with nitrate medication.
Please do not buy these medications from unlicensed online sellers. Counterfeit products are a documented problem, and you cannot know what is in them.
How to take the medication
- Take on an empty stomach. Taking it after a meal may delay the onset of the effect.
- Take with water or tea. Milk and other drinks high in fat can interfere with absorption.
- Do not take with grapefruit juice, which may strengthen the effect and the risk of side effects.
- These medications do not increase sexual desire. Direct sexual stimulation is still needed for them to work.
